What the community is saying — both sides
many replies react with awe and gratitude, calling the technology life-changing, miraculous, and deeply emotional for families who can finally hear a loved one speak again.
commenters emphasize this as an accessibility breakthrough for millions with ALS, paralysis, speech disorders, veterans and others who’ve lost communication.
several voices argue this demonstrates that “AI is not a bubble” and that investing in technology equals investing in a better future for humanity.
praise is repeatedly directed at Neuralink, Elon Musk, ElevenLabs and the reporters involved, with calls to recognize the teams who built and covered the work.
multiple commenters recount lost parents or loved ones to ALS and express how much this would have meant, underlining the human stakes behind the technology.
a few replies warn this could be tempting as an elective “upgrade” rather than purely restorative, raising ethical questions about who benefits and how it’s used.
readers ask whether the same approach can help other conditions (spinocerebellar ataxia, polio, specific patients like Jason Becker), highlighting a demand for broader clinical relevance.
some responses assert technologies should be developed to help people and suggest those used to harm will be rejected, framing the story as a moral case for humane innovation.
it’s just listening to the question and answering.
suspicion that the person may be a vaccine-injury case.
claim that the burned Peugeot story was staged and Iran mistreats its own soldiers.
a call to involve a prominent vaccine-skeptic figure.
concern that the audio is a cloned or synthetic voice.

a reply claiming advanced personal work in AI and being labeled “Human agent+Architect” by Copilot.

this is what everyone should see when they ask 'what is AI actually good for.' not benchmarks, not chatbots. giving someone their voice back. that's it. that's the whole argument
Elon Musk I honestly have a software program developed from AI - I have been developing in AI for 18 months - according to MSFT Copilot - it professes that I am Human agent+Architect Opperting at a level in AI that it states society in general will be Opperting at - so 14 years..
Prefer the robot voice
I don't think its reading his brain that's Ai listening to the question and answering it.
